Common Issues

Subdomain Not Resolving

Symptoms:
  • Browser shows “site can’t be reached”
  • DNS lookup fails
Solutions:
  1. Check DNS records
    • Verify CNAME record is added
    • Ensure it points to correct target
    • Wait for propagation (up to 48 hours)
  2. Verify subdomain format
    • Use only letters, numbers, hyphens
    • Don’t start or end with hyphen
    • Keep it short and simple
  3. Check for conflicts
    • Ensure no duplicate records
    • Remove conflicting A records

SSL Certificate Issues

Symptoms:
  • “Not secure” warning in browser
  • Certificate errors
Solutions:
  1. Wait for SSL provisioning (can take up to 24 hours)
  2. Verify DNS is properly configured
  3. Check domain ownership verification

Subdomain Shows Wrong Content

Symptoms:
  • Different website appears
  • Old content displays
Solutions:
  1. Clear browser cache
  2. Try incognito/private window
  3. Verify subdomain assignment in settings

Checking DNS Status

DNS Propagation

DNS changes can take time:

Testing Your Subdomain
