What is a Subdomain?

Your website’s subdomain is the default address:
yoursubdomain.lindo.site
This is the URL visitors use before you connect a custom domain.

Changing Your Subdomain

  1. Open your website in the editor
  2. Click Settings tab
  3. Go to Domains section
  4. Find the Subdomain field
  5. Enter your new subdomain
  6. Click Save

Subdomain Rules

Valid subdomains:
  • Use lowercase letters (a-z)
  • Use numbers (0-9)
  • Use hyphens (-)
  • Don’t start or end with hyphen
  • Keep it short and memorable

Examples

Good subdomains:
  • mycompany
  • acme-corp
  • studio123
Invalid subdomains:
  • -mysite (starts with hyphen)
  • my site (contains space)
  • MyCompany (uppercase)

After Changing

When you change your subdomain:
  • Old URL stops working immediately
  • New URL becomes active
  • Update any links to your site
  • Inform visitors of the change

  • Choose a subdomain that matches your brand
  • Keep it short and easy to type
  • Avoid numbers if possible
  • Consider SEO implications
